Product Overview
The ZGS series combined substation (also known as American-style box transformer) is a new type of complete power distribution equipment developed by our company with reference to American box-type transformers. It optimally integrates an oil-sealed power transformer together with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical components. By structural optimization and miniaturization of switchgears, the footprint of this combined transformer is greatly reduced. Its volume is only 1/3 ~ 1/5 of that of a European-style box transformer with the same capacity. It features compact size, low noise, reliable power supply, rational structure, flexible installation, convenient operation, and can be placed as close to the load center as possible. It is widely applied in residential communities, commercial centers, stations, industrial and mining enterprises, airports, railways, schools, hospitals, high-rise buildings and other sites.
Product Structure
Conventional American-style box transformers adopt a pin-shaped (品字形) structure, divided into front and rear sections. The front section contains high-voltage and low-voltage compartments. The high-voltage front compartment is equipped with a 10kV load switch, off-circuit tap changer operating handle, insert-type fuse, pressure relief valve, oil temperature gauge, oil level gauge, oil filling port and oil drain valve. The rear section consists of the oil tank and heat dissipation fins. Transformer windings, iron core, high-voltage load switch, off-circuit tap changer and protective fuses are all installed inside the oil tank. The oil tank adopts a fully sealed structure. A square-shaped (目字形) structure is also optional, which is split into three parts: high-voltage compartment, transformer compartment and low-voltage compartment.
High-Voltage Section of American Box Transformer
The high-voltage terminals of ZGS series American box transformers are fitted with single-pass or double-pass high-voltage bushings for connecting elbow-type cable plugs or elbow fully-insulated arresters. Live parts are sealed inside insulation to form a fully insulated structure. The terminal surface is at ground potential without live electricity, ensuring personnel safety. In emergency cases, the cable plug can be hot-plugged while the transformer runs at full load, so the cable plug can also function as a load switch. A live display or fault indicator can be mounted on the cable plug as required. A wall bracket is welded on the wall of the high-voltage front compartment near the high-voltage bushing, to fix the optional pedestal-type insulated bushing connector. When the live cable plug is pulled out, it can be immediately inserted into the pedestal bushing connector.
